Ilayathalapathy Vijay is Next Super Star!

Vijay in Kuruvi
Though director Dharani's ‘Kuruvi', featuring Vijay and Trisha, is yet to be completed, the producers are planning for May 10 release. While a few portions are being shot, the completed portions have been taken up for the post production work. The efforts to book the theaters for ‘Kuruvi' have been started. If ‘Kuruvi' is gearing up for an early release,

‘Silanthi', which was predictable to hit the halls by April 5, is postponed. The reason behind the change in the schedule is the change in the music department. As we reported earlier, director Aadhiraj had replaced Neil Mukharji with Karthik.
The change was caused by a difference of opinion on the rerecording of the film. The director wanted the rerecording for the thriller in an alternative manner, which was not acceptable to the music director. Now Karthik is taking care of the rerecording and doing it in accordance with the director's view point. Aadhiraj is quite content with the outcome and hence he is planning to add a new song. The song, according to the sources, will be shot in the boat houses of Kochi.

Ilayathalapathy Vijay is the next Super star. Vijay is still the man of the masses and he has one of the largest fan following in India. According to a recent survey done by a marketing agency, after Rajinikanth, Vijay’s face has the biggest reach in Tamil Nadu.
Small shops in rural parts of the state use his pictures to attract the buyers. Last week, a jewellery shop with branches all over South India signed him up as the brand ambassador.
It once again proves beyond doubt that Vijay is a superstar, and has a largest fan following in Tamil Nadu after Rajnikanth.

Acting career
---------------------------

Vijay debuted as a lead role actor in the 1992 film Naalaya Theerpu, produced by his father, then he co-stared with Vijayakanth in the film Sendhoorapandi. This film helped Vijay to become popular in the interior areas of Tamil Nadu. Films like Rasigan, Vishnu, and Deva followed, which all helped to Vijay to stay in the industry. Vijay is also one of the few lead actors of his generation to co-star with veteran actor Sivaji Ganesan. This opportunity came in the film Once More, directed by S. A. Chandrasekhar in 1994.

The year 1996 saw a blockbuster hit in the Vikraman-directed film Poove Unakkaga which helped Vijay to establish as a bankable star in Tamil films. He found more success with films that followed, which had an unorthodox climax like Love Today and Kadhalukku Mariyadhai. Kadhalukku Mariyadhai made Vijay receive that year's Tamil Nadu state Best Actor Award. Thulladha Manamum Thullum came as a blockbuster in 1999. Then he came back with successes of Khushi, Priyamaanavale and Friends in 2000.His string of failure films during 2001 and 2002 was ended by Thirumalai in 2003 which had Vijay in a new facial appearance. Ghilli, which was released in 2004, is considered to be one of the only Vijay's biggest hit till today. Another hit had followed, which was Madhurey, later that year. It was in this year which Vijay began to portray his current mass-hero, stereotypical acting style. The following year he had stumbling time with movies such as Thirupaachi and Sivakasi was a major hit and Sachein is a average grosser.

Vijay's first flop since the release of Thirumalai was Aathi, which released in 2006. Aathi had created some controversy during that year and many film distributors decided on thinking twice before handling any new Vijay films. This resulted in Vijay taking a break from acting for nearly a year, until the launch of Pokkiri, directed by Prabhu Deva, which released in 2007 and became a blockbuster. Later that year, Vijay appeared in Azhagiya Thamizh Magan, for the first time collaborating with A.R.Rahman and in dual roles, which eventually failed at the box office despite very popular music. He was nominated for a Filmfare Best Actor Award for Pokkiri. Vijay's latest film, Kuruvi, managed to release worldwide with much hype and became a box office average grosser. Directed by Dharani, Kuruvi also had Trisha Krishnan and Ashish Vidhyarthi in the cast and the film's music score was composed by Vidyasagar, the same team that worked with Vijay in Ghilli four years ago.

Ajith & Vijay in ‘Biryani’ chat
The biryani that ‘Thala’ Ajit served for Vijay last week is the latest hot talk in Kollywood. This ‘biryani talk’ between the two leading stalwarts of the Tamil film industry assumes significance in the aftermath of Vijay’s much-publicised talks and activities which indicate a possible launch of a new political outfit under his leadership.

Vijay was shooting for his upcoming film ‘Velayudham’ (produced by Ascar Ravichandran) at the now-famous Billy Mills compound in the outskirts of Chennai and found Ajit too shooting nearby for his upcoming film (which is also his landmark 50th film) ‘Mangkatha’. The two stars met up, shook hands and were seen talking to each other like a pair of long-lost friends.

Ajit had reportedly arranged for biryani to be served for the members of both the Units. He even went a step further and asked Vijay to come along with his wife for the party. The ‘biryani’ chat reportedly involved Vijay’s inclination to take to politics about which all Ajit had to say was that ‘if a person is to enter politics, his peace of mind would be the first casualty’.

Angela Johnson signed in opposite Vijay in Murugadoss film
film news : Kingfisher model Angela Johnson has been signed in as the lead actress in Murugadoss’s new film. Now,she will star opposite actor Vijay in this tamil film. The director has roped in the hot model as the heroine of the film.
Vijay(h6)
Vijay Next movie titled “Malai Neram Mazhaithuli ” will be directed by AR Murugadoss. The hunt for the female lead has finally ended and angela johnson -one of the sizzling models of kingfisher calender 2011 has been considered fit for the role.
Angela Johnson ,semi Indian model, is the winner of the Kingfisher Calendar Girl Hunt. Her name and pics became known when her affair with ranbir kapoor came out in news. She was being considered for Dhoom 3 role, but it seems her debut will be in south films rather than in bollywood.
Jonsson is absolutely ecstatic to have got this chance to be Vijay’s heroine in Murugadoss’s film. The shooting of this film starring vijay and angela johnson will commence in October 2011.
Opinion : This news reminds me of another kingfisher model Poonam Pandey, who is trying everything to remain in limelight with the hope that directors would notice her. But,even her latest revealing and sensational photoshoot didnt seem to gain her anything. On the other hand,Angela has been signed in for tamil film and sources also reveal that she also might soon be signing a Bollywood film.
A R Murugadoss is also recurring in news headlines.Recently,it was announced that he will be making a film with bollywood actor akshay kumar and now he is direct vijay and johnson in upcoming tamil film.
Actor VIJAY revealed about Mani Ratnam Movie Story
Finally, Vijay is in news for all right reasons. In an exclusive interview, the soft-spoken Tamil actor shares his thoughts about his the 100-crore periodic film with Mani Ratnam.
Suddenly, everything is shining bright for Vijay, after having had a rough patch in the last few years. After delivering a super-hit in Kaavalan, he has moved onto ace director Shankar’s project Nanban, the remake of Bollywood blockbuster Three Idiots. Then, the actor will join Mani Ratnam’s project, a periodic film.
After Shankar’s Namban, you will move onto Mani Ratnam’s project, we hear.
Yes, I will. It’s a privilege to have been offered opportunities to work in a film made by Shankar and by Mani Rathnam on a row. Trust me, it is a dream come true for me to associate myself with these two legendary directors.
