VILLU team special interview.
VILLU team special interview.
Sat 20 JUN
With expectations soaring high as VILLU is all set ready to
hit the screens for pongal , here we have an exclusive interview from the VILLU
unit about the movie.
The director Prabhu Deva is teaming up with  for the second time after the great success
of Pokkiri. He is very upbeat about the movie and is sure to repeat the success
mantra. Currently he is working on the post production and it was nice on his
part to spare some time for this interview. When asked about working with  he says, “Many say working with a
mass actor is very difficult but I beg to differ. Working with  is very easy and each and every experience
with  is jovial. He is a very
understanding and is very good at reproducing it though his body language.  is full of energy that he will be seen like
another MGR. ” When asked about Villu and the co-stars Prabhu Deva
says, “Villu has all ingredients to become a  Movie. The story has  with a heavy heart with the feelings being
expressed sensationally at the climax. I can be sure that the movie will be
interesting throughout. Along with  we
have Nayanthara and Vadivelu. Devi Sri Prasad has given a good music for the
movie. The other plus will be the exotic locations where the movie is shot.
”
Nayanthara is very happy to have acted with  after a long wait. This is how she expressed
her dreams on acting with , “When I first came to tamil cinema, I
always wanted to act with . As days passed by I felt that it would take a long time
for my dream to come true. But one day Perarasu sir called and asked me to do a
dance number with . I immediately accepted the offer as I always loved to dance
with . I always admired ’s expressions and speed at dancing. The song
was memorable as it was sung by ’s mom too. After this I was offered
to act in some films with  which I could
not complete due to my prior commitments. But this time I have been lucky with
Villu. Prabhu Deva sir has taken utmost care that each and every scene is filmed
with perfection. The most difficult part for me was dancing with . He bends his
body like rubber. I had to reduce Kgs to match with ’s dance. The
romance scenes of the movie have also come out exceptionally well.”
Nayanthara says she has got a very good role in the movie and is expecting to
catch a place in the heart of  fans with
this movie. Also she is expecting to do more and more movies with  in the lead.
Mr. Karunamoorty who has produced Villu has also distributed
more than 30  movies in the FMS. When
asked about  he says, “  is a great person and a perfectionist. He is
very hard working and dedicated to his work. I had experienced this during
Villu shooting. One day the shoot was very hectic that we had to shoot till
late night and the shoot next day was to start at 7 in the morning. I was a
little late to wake up and was surprised to
already at the shooting spot. He was looking very fresh and energetic
too. His dedication to work simply amazed me and it is this dedication that has
made him reach heights at this very young age. Earlier when Rajeev Menon was
proceeding with Kandukondein Kandukondein I tried to do a film with  and it was successful only now. Villu is an
outright commercial film.  and Prabhu
Deva have worked hard for the movie with the crew and I am sure that it will
breaks all records set by Pokkiri. Also Ayngaran International is looking
forward to produce more films with  in
the lead.” On  popularity
outside India he says, “ Right from Nalaya Theerpu,  has more fans next to Rajini in FMS. These
fans are not only youth but family members too. It is sure that after Rajini it
is none other than . ”
Mr. Arun Pandian is one of the most sought producers now
days. He had excelled in acting and direction before venturing into production.
He is also a producer for Villu. On Villu and
he says, “ Villu is sure to exploit all the talents of .  has done exceptionally well in the movie.
Nayanthara has been very cooperative and the movie will overcome all our
expectations and will be a silver jubilee for me and Ayngaran too. “
The music director Devi Sri Prasad popularly known as DSP
says, “  has made a great
impression in this film and his dance will be the talk of the town. I have
tuned the songs keeping ’s dance in the mind. ” When DSP
approached Kovai Sarala to sing few lines in the album she immediately said,
“ ’s songs are always a huge hit and I am ready to sing for
his movie. ” Similarly DSP has made Vadivelu sing along with Tippu in
a song as he felt that Vadivelu has the grace that could make the song a big
hit. Also he has made Mamtha Mohandas sing a peppy number in the album. The
pick of the album was Jalsa… which was sung by Hindi Pop Singer, Baba
Seghal . The recording was scheduled to be during the Mumbai terror attacks. So
DSP, understanding the singers position accepted to postpone the recording.
Immediately Baba Seghal said, “ I like the tune very much and I will
come and sing for sure. ” This commitment shocked DSP and the
recording went on as scheduled.
Finally coming to our star Ilayathalapathy  . Well we did not get an interview from him
but just got a fact. What is ’s Favourite song?  was impressed by DSP’s work for
telugu movie Jalsa especially the title number “Jalsa…
Jalsa…” and hence approached DSP to use it in Villu. DSP
was very happy to hear this and immediately accepted it. DSP also retained Baba
Seghal who sang in the original version. Currently we can say that this is one
of the best songs of the album and ’s choice has not let him down.
The Villu team is gearing up for the release of the movie
and all are hoping that the magic of Pokkiri is recreated.  and his co-stars are pretty confident about
the success of the movie. So for this Pokkiri Pongal,  fans are gonna experience a Visual Treat with
Villu.
