He adds that he is comfortable working with the Endhiran creator, as the director has high regards for artists.

Vijay with shankar Director Shankar and actor Vijay were conspicuous by their absence at the recent audio-launch of actor Jiiva’s ‘Rowthiram’. Shankar is presently directing ‘Nanben’ (a remake of Bollywood superhit film ‘3 Idiots’) which stars Vijay, Jiiva and Srikkanth in lead roles. As such, Jiiva was expected to have hit it off with Vikram and Shankar and the crew of the film.

Vijay with shankar It is rumoured in Kollywood circles that R.B. Chowdhury, noted producer and father of actor Jiiva, was ‘upset’ that Shankar and Vijay didn’t attend the audio-launch. Queries with sources close to actor Jiiva, however, revealed a very different story.

Vijay with shankar Jiiva reportedly shot for ‘Nanben’ in Chennai a day prior to the audio-launch of ‘Rowthiram’. With the audio-launch of ‘Rowthiram’ fixed for the next evening, staff of Gemini Labs, who have taken over the distribution of the film, reportedly invited all the crew members of ‘Nanben’ to finish the day’s shooting and then attend the audio-launch in the evening.

Vijay with shankar Incidentally, ‘Nanben’ is also being produced by Gemini Labs. The trio of Shankar, Vijay and Ileana (who plays Vijay’s heroine in the film) agreed to attend the audio-launch but didn’t turn up the next day. The reason is simple: they obviously expected Jiiva, who had been shooting with them for ‘Nanben’, to formally invite them at least once for the audio-launch which didn’t happen.

Therefore, Shankar and his two lead actors decided to give the function a miss!

Vijay with shankar The much-hyped Vijay's Nanban has completed the shooting recently. The movie, which was delayed in the early stages due to casting issues, took eight months to wrap up the filming.

Vijay with shankar in his usual style, shared the news with his fans on his official website. He wrote, “Nanban shooting 100% completed. Since Velayudham is releasing for Diwali, Nanban will be for Pongal. And the audio will start rocking your ears from December.”

Vijay with shankar Nanban is a remake of Bollywood blockbuster 3 Idiots, which starred Aamir Khan, Madhavan, Sharman Joshi and Kareena Kapoor in the leads. In the Tamil version, Vijay, Srikanth, Jeeva and Ileana D'Cruz are enacting the respective roles.
