Vijay (H1)

Vijay (H1)

Vijay has excellent rapport with his peers Ajith, Prasanth and Surya.A shy and intensely private person, Vijay has steered clear of any controversy. He is happily married to London-born Sangeetha. They have a son, Jason Sanjay and a just-born daughter. A total family man, he prefers spending his free time with his wife and kids and can only be rarely seen in filmi gatherings. He is an accomplished sportsperson who can play basketball, football, cricket and volleyball. He plumps for idli and dosa with coriander chutney and hogs on seafood, chicken, tandoori and Chinese dishes. There were several pinpricks about his appearance and doubts about his talent. He has steadily strode to thrash them out and today is a leading star with mass appeal. Behind the smile is the sweat of perseverance.

Vijay: Slow and steady to win the race

Vijay is on a threshold of his career when it is highly imperative for him to give a hit. The career graph of Vijay was a steep line with successive hits of Gilli, Tirupaachi, and Sivakasi. Producers rarely complained of a loss and he even earned a name of producer's delight. Meanwhile when he tried a soft romantic role in Sachien, his fans did not accept him, which made him get into a set mould once again. When his action movie Aadhi failed at the box office, it was time for Vijay to wake up and start analyzing his career.

Shobha Chandrasekhar’ s praise for Asin

No it is not the Italian, Chinese or continental cuisine that is keeping the lead lady of top heroes fit and healthy. You would be surprised to note what Asin’s favorite food is. It is fish curry and biriyani – cooked by none other than Shoba Chandrasekhar - you guessed it right, Vijay’s mother. Favorite food cooked by a top hero’s mother – a rare combination to find indeed. Not many would have the luck to share a very good rapport with Vijay’s mother. It seems to be Asin’s turn now after Trisha.Shoba Chadrasekhar is all praises for Asin and she loves Asin’s smile –every one of us do as well. The other aspect that seemed to have bonded the relationship is Asin’s simplicity. Well we are sure Shoba has reasons to state so.After sharing screen space with Vijay in a couple of hits, it is Asin’s turn again to cast opposite him in Prabhudeva’s Pokkiri. Asin seemed to have been in a sabbatical for a while and is back again with a bang.

It is Tamil filmdom that brought me name and fame. Hence I concentrate on Tamil only for now'. Asin was also thrilled to work with Vijay after the success of Sivakasi. On his part, Prabhudeva, said, 'I am taking all efforts to render a success in Pokiri. Directing a popular star like Vijay is a real challenge, which I relish'.The movie will be released this January.

Vijay wants to do Rajini's film

Vijay, many Kollywood observers, have said is the true follower of Rajinikanth's formula. So it should come as small surprise that Vijay has evinced interest in doing a Rajini movie as a remake. As everyone knows, today's fad is to remake and re-interpret hits of yesteryear. Bollywood has started the trend. There is a talk of Tamil movies too following suit.Among Rajini's hits, Billa and Thee are billed to be remade again. In this context, Vijay, asked by a Tamil newspaper, has specifically said that if Rajini's blockbuster Murattu Kalai is remade, he would want to play the title role.In a sense, it is also apt that somebody like Vijay, who has a mass following, take up the mantle of Rajinikanth.

Projects lined up for Vijay in 2011
January 25, 2011 By The Editor Leave a Comment
'All ended fine' inspite of the tough time that he had in releasing his latest flick 'Kavalan' which has been declared as a hit at the box office . Vijay who rose to fame with the support of his father within a little time has been pulled down due to the box office duds of his recent releases including Sura.
Breaking all his flop records 'Kavalan' Kick started his success track and hopes to carry this name by selecting right scripts for his next projects.
Vijay's next upcoming flick 'Velayudham' is currently in the production stage which is a remake of Telugu film 'Azaad' starring Nagarjuna and Soundarya in the lead roles has been scheduled to hit screens on his brithday.
Vijay has also signed the dotted line for a film with Kalaipuli Thanu and another flick under the banner of Super Good Films of RB Choudhary.
Looks like 'Kavalan's success has given enough energy to continue his stardom.
Tamil actor Vijay's schedule chalk-a-block till 2014
Kollywood star Vijay is in demand. Almost every top director in the Tamil film industry is looking at casting the star in their film. So much so that Vijay is now looking at a packed schedule till the end of the year 2014. This ‘demand’ has compelled the actor to even give his political ambitions a break for the time being too.

Vijay(H5)

Vijay has just completed dubbing for Jeyam Raja’s Velayudham that is due for release this Diwali. He is now shooting for director Shankar’s Nanban, the Tamil remake of Bollywood recent hit — 3 Idiots. The film will see him essay the role that Bollywood actor Aamir Khan did in the original.
It is said that Vijay’s recent hit Vettaikaran, wherein he stared alongside Anuskha, brought in the much required turning point in his career which was on a downswing until that point. He nailed his place on the top with the success of Kavalan (a remake of the Malayalam film Bodyguard) wherein he stared opposite Asin.
“After Tamil star Suriya, Vijay is now considered to be one among the most bankable stars in Kollywood. With two continuous hits, every top director in the industry is eyeing him for their next project,” explains a source from the industry. Vijay was also shortlisted to play the lead in ace director Manirathnam’s next — Ponniyin Selvam. But due to budget constraints, the director has decided to cast him in his next instead.
Vijay also has one film with director AR Murugadoss, and yet another with director Gautham Menon — Yohan: Adhiyayam Ondru. He has also signed up for director Vijay’s (of Deiva Thirumagal fame) next film. While director Vijay was reluctant to give us further details, a source close to the director reveals, “Gautham’s film is scheduled to start in 2012, after which the actor has signed up for director Vijay’s next.” Look’s like Vijay is on a roll. Nevertheless, we are definitely waiting to see the actor take the big screen by storm!
Sonam Kapoor pairing Vijay in Murugadoss' film!
We have reported yesterday that Ilayathalapathy Vijay would be teaming up with ace director AR Murugadoss directorial film. The latest news about the film is that the filmmaker is thinking about casting Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor opposite the Kaavalan star in the film.

A leading daily has reported that AR Murugadoss, who is busy with his much-hyped 7 Aum Arivu, is planning to rope in Sonam Kapoor for the proposed film. The director will approach once he finishes the script of the film.

Vijay(H6)
It may be recalled that Sonam Kapoor was earlier considered by the makers of Vikram's upcoming film Karikalan. There were also reports that the movie bosses of Silambarasan's Osthi were keen on casting her in the film. However, the two attempts did not materialize due to unknown reasons.

Meanwhile, AR Murugadoss, who has impressed Vijay with his one-line story, has opted Nirav Shah and Harris Jayaraj for cinematography and music of the film respectively. The movie will be jointly produced by Vijay's father SA Chandrasekhar and Aascar Ravichandran.

It's going to be a new Vijay in Kaavalkaran : Siddique
• A new Vijay in Kaavalkaran that's what we hear from Siddique, director of the film. The film does not have an introductory song as every Vijay film had till now. Siddique promises that Kaavalkaran will last long in the minds and hearts of the film buffs long after they have left the cinema theatre.

The movie is a love story said in a very different style said Siddique while speaking to an English media. The film is a remake of Malayalam hit 'Bodyguard' originally directed by Siddique starring Dileep and Nayantara. Siddique had earlier directed 'Friends' in which Vijay was the hero.

The film has Asin with Vijay in the lead. Interestingly the movie has lots of comedy and action. Moreover Asin is coming back to Tamil after a short gap. Siddique will also direct the Hindi version of 'Bodyguard' in which Salman Khan plays the lead. Sallu's company is producing the film.
