Vijay 3 idiots After the non-stop appreciations that are pouring in director Shankar is planning a well deserved break and will be flying to an overseas destination soon. His ten year dream 'Endhiran' has given him a new found status in Indian cinema and Shankar is enjoying every moment of it.
Now after 'Endhiran' what? After returning from his holidays Shankar will start working in the south Indian remake of '3 Idiots'. The stars are finally confirmed after many speculations from media and the pre-production work has already started.
Vijay was the first one to be confirmed to play Aamir's role. After that Shankar finalised Jeeva and Siddharth to play the other two main roles. Now only the female role played by Kareena is the only one waiting for the casting.
The official announcement of the film launch is expected to happen as soon as Shankar returns from his holidays.

Vijay 3 idiots Director Shankar’s next project will be the remake of the Hindi blockbuster 3 Idiots. The three heroes who will play the all-important roles in this film are said to be Vijay, Jiiva and Siddharth. In the Telugu version Vijay will be replaced by Mahesh Babu, sources report.
Shankar has had a hectic schedule over the past couple of years with Endhiran in the making and now that the film has been released and declared a smash hit, he is ready to pack his bags to travel to some foreign country along with family.
3 Idiots will commence soon after Shankar returns from his vacation.

Vijay 3 idiots Director Shankar finally sighed in relief after the grand release of Endhiran which was in production for close to three years. Shankar, who is known for his grandeur, is going to direct a remake for the first time in his 20-year career. His next movie is tentatively titled '3 Rascals' and here are a few tidbits of the movie.

This will be the first time Shankar will be using a script of another writer in his direction. He had earlier remade his own movie Mudhalvan in Hindi titled 'Nayak'.

Vijay 3 idiots 3 Rascals is a remake of Hindi blockbuster 3 Idiots which broke all box office records last year. 3 Idiots had Aamir Khan, Madhavan, Sharman Joshi and Kareena Kapoor in lead roles.

While Vijay will play Aamir's character in Tamil, actors Jiva and Siddharth are expected to be cast in the other two roles.

Telugu actress Ileana will be the female lead which was enacted by Kareena Kapoor. Ileana's only appearance in Tamil was in Kedi in the year 2006.

Vijay 3 idiots The music of 3 Rascals will be taken care of by Harris Jayaraj. This will be only the second time Harris and Shankar will work together. Their previous association was in Anniyan in 2005 while music for all of Shankar's other movies have been composed by AR Rahman.

Vijay 3 idiots The cinematographer of this movie will be Manoj Paramahamsa who shot into fame with his work in Vinnauthaandi Varuvaayaa. Incidentally, Manoj earlier worked in Eeram which was produced by Shankar.

Vijay 3 idiots Director Shankar strictly adheres to the formula of producing films with good budgets, though he doesn ’t exceed the limits as it happens with his other producers. Say for instance, ‘Mudhalvan’ was grandiosely produced and at the same time, it was appraised as a best film for its production value. Some of the sources from S Pictures convey that Shankar may produce the remake of ‘3 Idiots’ in collaboration with Gemini Film Circuit. Previously, they had planned to stop producing films for other directors for the next 7 months and it looks like this was the reason behind it.

Before few weeks, there were rumors pertaining to this project that Gemini Film Circuit is dropping the film due to some difference of opinion between producers and director Shankar. But it has been absolutely denied as baseless rumors.
Also the rumor about Vijay doing lead role in Telugu version has been denied and it will be Mahesh Babu taking on the character. Meanwhile, the other two characters of Jeeva and Siddarth remains unconfirmed while Ileana is likely to be signed for the female lead role.
Harris Jayaraj has also confirmed that the project is going to be worked on rapid pace and he has already completed scoring a track for Telugu version.

Master film maker Shankar's proposed Tamil and Telugu remakes of Aamir Khan's smash hit 3 Idiots will start rolling from December 5 in Delhi. However, the exact location of the shooting is kept under wraps.
Vijay and Mahesh Babu will play Aamir's role in the Tamil and Telugu versions respectively. Arya and Jeeva will play the roles played by Madhavan and Sharman Joshi in the original, while Sathyaraj will play the role of the principal. Ileana will enact Kareena’s role in both versions.
Some changes are being made in the script to suit the tastes of the South Indian audiences. Harris Jayaraj will compose the music and Manoj Paramahamsa will crank the camera.

One of the modifications is said to be the inclusion of a second heroine. The director feels that a second heroine would create more interest, it is said. We need to wait a bit to see who will be the second heroine. The unit is now busy with screens tests.
It is confirmed that the remakes will be launched on December 5. As of now, titles are unsure, but 3 Rascals and Moovar are said to be the titles under the consideration for Telugu and Tamil respectively. Harris Jayaraj will compose the music and Manoj Paramahamsa will crank the camera.

This move is seen as a result of the recent tax exemption rule implemented by the Tamil Nadu government as the name 3 Rascals would not fetch any concessions.

Vijay 3 idiots For the first time in her career, South India's slim beauty Ileana bagged a whopping Rs. 1.5 crores as total remuneration for the heroine's role in the Tamil and Telugu remakes of Bollywood blockbuster 3 Idiots.

Vijay 3 idiots The Telugu remake will have Prince Mahesh Babu in the lead, while Tamil remake stars Vijay. The first song of this Shankar directed flick was recently composed by music composer Harris Jayaraj.

Vijay 3 idiots After Anniyan (2005), this is the second time Harris Jayaraj is working with Shankar and this is the first time Shankar is attempting a remake exercise. Manoj Paramahamsa of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya fame will handle the camera.

Vijay 3 idiots Shankar is all set to start his Raju Hirani's 3 Idiots remake in Tamil and Telugu.

The film has Vijay in Tamil and Mahesh Babu in Telugu doing Aamir Khan's role, while Ileana will be doing Kareena's role in both the versions.

Vijay 3 idiots The shoot of the bi-lingual will start in Chennai from December 6.

Sathyaraj has been signed up to play the role done by Bomman Irani in the original.

The director later approached Arya, who excused himself saying he has no dates. Now the latest we hear is that Srikanth is the frontrunner as Shankar rejected Ganesh Venkatram and Nakul who were in the race.

Meanwhile last Tuesday, Ileana flew down to Chennai to meet up with Shankar. She is being paid Rs 1.50 Crore to do both the versions, by the producers Gemini Film Circuit. Shankar explained to her in detail her role and how crucial she is to the film.

Ileana is said to have been very impressed by the director's narration and the way her character is etched.
